Does this work? Something about it just doesn't look right to me. I used an action I got from bytephoto a while back. It's actually a soft skin action for portraits, but I really lilke the effect it has on certain landscapes. What do you think of this one?

I know what you mean about something not looking right.
IMO I think its the fact that the trees are so bare. I can imagine this same shot except with trees full of leaves as a background. That would help I think.
It almost feels bottom heavy to me.
Looks like a good location.

I really like the pic from the falls forward. Like mttmrphy said, the bare trees seem to take away. Crop just over the falls maybe :?

I think also that instead of focusing on the little waterfall those big rocks distract me, so im confused sorta to what to focus on

I'd leave the trees in and crop the bottom third keeping the two big rocks
in front of the falls.
I love these shots. :D

I think that what isn't right is that the harsh blue sky draws your eye to it, right over the top of the rocks, water, and waterfall.

I go with the others and say its the trees - had there been a little spring growth on them it might help - also the left bankside is quite bare and doesn't help - is it possible to reduce the brightness in the background and increase the saturation?
Otherwise, great composition.

Thanks a lot for the feedback guys. I knew there was something, I just couldn't put my finger on it. Sometimes it takes a fresh pair of eyes to see it. I definitely think it's the bareness of the trees. The contrast is just too different from the top to bottom in this picture. I'm happy with the composition, and the blue sky, but those trees need some foliage.
For reference, I flipped the canvas horizontally in the above picture to get the foreground rocks on the left side. There was no other way, unless I had stuck my tripod in the water while shooting  I had taken another shot as a pan (3 shot stitch) to include more of the scene also. I cropped the bare trees in the background out of this one, but it just doesn't look right without the trees. Here's the example. I'll have to go back in a couple of weeks and re-shoot with some foliage in the background. Thanks again for all your feedback. I appreciate it.

i prefer the original, but keep it vertical not horizontal.
This last pics really doesnt capture the original.
Crop the first one at the tree line.
Keeping the pic vertical.
