View Full Version : Why don't WE have speed challenges?

The G series and P&S forums have these speed challenges where you have a week to display a picture on the topic given by the OP. Why don't we have one for the SLR forum?! We could have a Crop sensor camera speed challenge, and a FF sensor speed challenge. What do you guys think? Should we start it up?

hmm, I'll make one up for the crop bodies, and someone with a FF should make one up for FF bodies. I'll make a topic up right now!

What's a speed challenge? Is speed in related to how fast it ends or how fast someone posts one up?

Check the competitions forum and check the link in my signature for World Photoday which is a weekly challenge started by saravrose. We are coming up on 1 year aniversery for that challenge in one week.

Exactly.. Moving this to the competitions forum.

August, FYI the forum, as in all of POTN, is decidedly EOS -centric.
Because of the huge amount of EOS related traffic, we have to be stricter about keeping the gear forums for discussion only on those specific gear related subjects.
The G and compact forums have there own speed challenges within there "tech" forums because the members wanted a place to have these challenges with members that share similar equipment.

since it seems like the normal challenge is dead, I'd love to see the speed challenges start up!!

I really don't think it's necessary to do a crop and full-frame version of the contest.

WTG starting this up August, I've been wondering why we don't have a weekly contest like FM. Now we do!

What are the prizes going to be? ;)

And, are you the one that's going to be hosting the contest every week?

No no. I'm not fit to judge. So what we do is the winner comes up with the next contest for the week. Just like in the G-series and P&S contests.
