View Full Version : Small glitch in EE buttons

When viewing an exhibit, I set the thumbs to display in ascending order. When I tried to use the previous and next buttons at the bottom of the page they worked backwards! I didn't know if I was coming or going. :) The ones at the top worked fine.

On a somewhat related point, is it possible to set defaults for the number of thumbs to show and whether ascending or decending on the Photo Editor/Exhibition Editor page? I reset it when I'm editing photo data to show thumbs in ascending order. Then I go to a specific photo, edit it, return to the thumbs page and my settings are back to descending order.

Thanks for your help. I have EE up and running on my PC, thanks to your attention to my problems. And I love it! Now all I have to do is see about getting a web site so I can share it.

This navigation bug is already fixed in latest beta. I found the bug you described a few days ago when viewing someone elses EE pages.

Will be in next version.

In next version list.php (photo/exh editor) will be identical to the public one, so "misc settings" affect it, too.

No problem. I appreciate all comments and ideas. Over thousand copies of EE has been downloaded now, and I'm surprised there hasn't been more feature requests and bug reports.

About next version:

I'll have to code quite a lot more into it because of PHP 4.2, so it'll take a few more days to complete. "Public area" and half of the editors are now ready, when they are finished I'll take microthumb path and thumb path editors out from multieditor and do a path editor (like size path editor now) which has all paths visible at the same time (there could be a "show thumb/microthumb/size/all" dropdown, haven't decided that yet). New version has already a couple of small new features, like choosing if clicking a big photo will show the next photo in line, and a choice if links in texts will be automatically converted active etc.

Thanks,

Pekka

Well, now that you mention it ...

I can't set the field for zoom in the photodata defaults. It just reverts back to 0. I assume this is the same as the focal length field for each photo? Slight typo - 'focal lenght'.

Wish list: Could the focal length field be searched on or included in detailed listing?

Thanks again.

Well spotted. It's now fixed for next release.

Perhaps. Would that be original focal or 35mm equivalent focal?

Hey that's really nice of you! Thanks!

For me it's still easier to think in terms of original focal length. I'm interested in this as I'm trying to see how I'm using my 28-135 lens. When I get my 70-200, how often might I need a lower focal length? How often am I at the wide end of the lens - do I need to consider replacing the 28-135 with a more wide angle zoom? I'd rather do this on paper than carry a lot of excess baggage around with me on my photo walkabouts.
