Well, I posted color versions of these pictures in the landscape section (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=285429) and decided to play with some black and white versions. Here is what I got...Tell me what you think.

The feathering in the clouds of #1 looks cool, but I think it looses a lots switching from color

The colors in the sky are so amazing that I think blank and white does not help these...unless you only want to see the texture of the clouds. Personally I like the colored ones much more.
