View Full Version : Which is better for indoor photos - A710 (IS) or SD700IS (SD800IS)?

Hi,

I am looking for a camera that can take photos indoors without having that washed out look that my current S500 camera gives (due to the flash indoors). I hear that IS is the way to go. I was hoping for a recommendation between the two cameras - A710 & SD700IS (800 is similar enough if that is your experience).

I have a newborn infant in the house & would like to take more photos but the current camera is more of an outdoor camera.

I would hope the new indoor camera would be semi outdoor capable. The size difference between the two is not an issue for my needs.

Thanks,
Rich

Have you tried adjusting the exposure compensation on your current camera? You may be able to improve your shots that way. Of course, a home-brew diffuser might work too.

Otherwise, the A710 might be the choice since it offers flash output adjustment. Haven't tried that particular model, but the same feature on my S2 IS definitely does the trick.
