I first would like to thank pepperoni for his thread, which helped me get off my lazy butt and build a light box. I need advise for different background paper as seen in shot 3 heres the shots (the angle of the shot makes it look like the right lamp is closer but its not) http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k134/ckvr6/100_7474.jpg heres my best shot so far http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k134/ckvr6/IMG_9551.jpg Heres my crappy background paper you can see creases and marks from a different shot http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k134/ckvr6/IMG_9581.jpg

Sweet! Love the Metallica sticker too.

I just haven't made it to the craft store yet to get different color backgrounds. I need to get moving on that..

Ha, the Metallica sticker is the first thing I noticed to! I would also be curious to hear of what other backgrounds work. I wanted to try some black paper and see how it would turn out but haven't had the time yet. Looks good so far though.

I would use Nylon fabric for the background, though I would cover the back and the bottom of the box with the same paper you do the sides first. The nylon fabric you can get in black, white, red, blue, etc. I would also keep iy rolled in a cardboard tube (the kind wrapping paper comes in) when not in use to avoid wrinkles.

BTW this light box works very well. I like what you guys have done with these.

^ yeh it did, besides the dirty/crinkled background, Im in love with it. The funny thing is now its hard to find appropriate shooting subjects

Hard? jeez...just looking around I see... altoids tin, computer mouse, fiestaware plate, camera lenses out the wazoo:p, roll of packing tape, strong bad figurines....it goes on and on and on and on--and the lights aren't even on so there's probably even more I can't see! Going to have to start my own thread sooner or later ;)

I have been using white poster board, does not crinkle as easy. Except when my cat attacked it. Also been trying a new posterboard I found that is a dry erase board and is real shiny and you can get slight reflections from it.

Oh man, I thought you had made a light box out of pepperoni. Thats a tasty idea.

This light box is the next best thing though - good job and nice images!
