I have a Canon A95, for which I bought 4 sets of 4 2500mAh Energizer NiMH batteries.

The batteries worked great for several months, and then suddenly, they stopped holding a charge. After charging them for the full recommended time, I couldn't get more than about 20 shots out of them before they would die.

What's the deal?

Thanks!

Your batteries are dead. Simple as that. I can't think of a reason for them not holding a charge otherwise. I also use Energizer 2500's in my 430EX and they work all the time, with fast recharge times.

i had some and they didnt last long either, never bought them again....went to another brand. they are more than likely dead, call energizer and explain your cituation and maybe? they will replace them.....its a stretch but worth a phone call?

Same here. I have 8 of them (Energizer 2500). I was using them for about a year. Now 6 of them discharge by themself in 24 hours.
4 Maha powerex still good (bought them same time) and can hold charge for weeks.

I think my next would be Sanyo Eneloop or Maha Powerex.

After their charged the batteries discharge about 1% a day, below is a link to a good article about batteries.

I just got Duracell 2650Mah batteries for my 580EX. They last soooo much longer than the Energizer 2500Mah ones I had. The Duracell charger is slower and trickle charges, but the charge seems to be a lot stronger in my tests. I popped off over 100 flash photos already and it still recycles in about 1 second. There weren't many places that I found these, but the AAs were at Publix. $10 for the 2650Mah set of 4, and $13 for the charger and set of 1800 Mah.
