This has probably been answered before but I couldn't find it using the search engine.

Anyway, in the 10D does 0 in the camera mean no sharpening or is that just 'default' level of sharpening...is -2 no sharpening, less sharpening than the default, or some type of blurring?

- 2 is the minimum level of sharpening, but it does not apply any extra bluring.

It is not possible to totally turn sharpening off on the 10D[/quote]

The in camera setting apply to Jpeg modes only. Raw images shouldn't be affected by any of the settings. At least that's the way I understood it. Someone correct me if that's an error please.

For the 10D, its been confirmed by Chuck Westfall of Canon that even Raw files get "some" sharpening applied. For 1D and 1Ds it is possible to get completely unsharpened Raw files. That was a revelation to most convinced that Raw files are completely virgin. Though one would need to measurebate for a while to see the difference.
