Login fails when using Mozilla 2. Here's what happens: after entering the correct user id and password the next page displayed is the login page, not the index page.
When I switch to IE I can see that the my login attempts succeeded, but I never get past the login page.
I checked Mozilla to be sure that cookies and JavaScript were enabled, and they were. Repeated the test with another PC and the results were the same.

Might be worth checking the setting for
// $ee_ident is personal id for your EE (string), used in cookies, if you change the ident all active sessions are lost. No special charaters or spaces! Make it as unique as you can.
$ee_ident = "Mike_Caine_Gallery";
in /basecose/SETUP_settings.php
If this has special charaters or spaces in it the login cookie doesn't work. I fell foul of it myself at first, which is why I use underscores instead of spaces

Still think it has something to do with Mozilla 2.0.0.2. Tested with Mozilla 1.5 and it worked fine.
Tried Mozilla 2.0.0.2 from another PC and still no luck. Mozilla Error Console shows no errors. Login looks likes its successful (see message below), but I never get past the Exhibit Engine Admin Login page.
Here's the message displayed:
Last successful login was Wed, 14 Mar 2007 09:47:46 -0500 from IP 216.101.18X.XXX using browser Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.2) Gecko/20070219 Firefox/2.0.0.2

I checked the cookies on Mozilla 2.0.0.2 and there are two EE cookies displayed, so EE is able to set cookies in the browser.

Have you tried to delete both cookies and try again? I had a similar issue with the logon/cookies set wrongly from the web server...

Your suggestion to delete the cookies worked! I think the problem deserves more testing to see how frequently it is encountered. Most users won't know to (or how to) delete the cookies.

After giving it some thought, my *guess* is that the "bad" EE cookies were a result of the Mozilla installation process. During the install, Mozilla asks if you want to import IE's history and cookies, and I responded "yes."

I just had the same problem -- couldn't log in with either Firefox (2.0.0.6) or IE7. I had recently updated both browsers. I solved the Firefox problem by deleting the Firefox cookies for my site, then solved the IE problem by deleting the IE cookies for my site. Apparently the new clients can't read the old cookies properly.
