Nice try
First off the picture is very dull - you need to alter your Levels in photoshop or some other program.

I would also say that your main flower (central to the pic) is out of focus the one that looks to be in focus is the partly open bud to the left. Also you have cropped the buds to the left of the image.

Try setting the camera on a tripod and frame the shot correctly and take a few shots at different settings, angles and distances.

As I said nice first try.
