Good Shot OLYST. Looks like it was taken Saturday or Sunday, both good days for shooting. Was down in Old Montreal Saturday.
What street St Urbain?

Hey Wayne!

Thanks for the comment! Just got the XT 2 months ago and still playing with it. Last photography lesson this sunday, I'll need some practice to get all I've learned lately (from the course, WEb and the books I recently got). :-)

It was taken last week actually, and yes it is near St-Urbain, I'll tell you what corner exactly tomorow (It's close to work, if it's not too cold, I'll take a walk at lunch time).

Thanks again!

Rene

Note: I've noticed a few members form Montreal, do you happen to know if there are some meetings/shootings/gathering of Montreal POTN members?

Tried to organize a meet last fall for the Chinese Lanterns at the Botanical Gardens but didn't have any success.
Could put the word out again and see if there is any interest, all it takes is a couple and maybe it will grow.
Lots of interesting thing to photograph around here.

Sure!

Well, the weather is not really on our side these days... Maybe wait for this spring and hopefully some people might get in? To bad it didn't work the last time. Some people are on a tight schedule (familly , work and whatever...). So far I'm in, just for the heck of it. I'm not a pro!

Ok, just to stay on topic...here is one of the Hydro Québec HQ

I'm interested in a meeting! As Rene knows, what I like to shoot is Birds but I also like Nature & Animals and Landscapes. I usually go to The Morgan Arboretum (http://www.morganarboretum.org/) which is wonderful for the wildlife. So you can count me in when the weather warms up :)

Marco,

Never been at the Arboretum and would really be interested to go there. I don't have any preference of shooting yet (still exploring), thus anything is good for me so far.

Well that's a start, I haven't been to the Arboretum either but it sounds interesting. We could also thnk about some night shots, or an Urban walk.
Weather is supposed to start warming up so maybe we should start talking about some dates.

This is great! With the warm weather coming up, we'll have a go at this.
Nights are a bit difficult for me due to the fact I get up between 4 and 5 AM (work), so usually at 9 pm, I'm spent :(

Nice shot!

I've never been in the Chinatown... and I work just beside it :o

I've seen the gate a few times when I go to Photo Service with my car... that's about it.

I really need to go out more often  I've been here for a year and a half and barely went out :o

I guess tomorrow would be out of the question???
Looks like we're getting another dump, they say up to 25 cm.
What type of get together would be good for all of us.
From the sounds of it maybe a urban walk in China town or Old Montreal might be a way to get aquainted and it could be done in a morning or afternoon.
Maybe we should move this to Member Activities and firm it up.
I'll post something and we can go from there.

Wayne,

I agree with you. It's already snowing... But this should produce some nice landscape...

I'll wait your post in the Member activity, might get some attention of other Montreal's members as well, who knows?! :-).
