I was looking for a way to stamp my copyright on about 500 pictures that I shot from a fishing tournament and was not pleased with the lack of flexibility (or my ability to create a good action) of PS actions. I decided to write my own little utilitity and I have also shared it with a couple of friends that like it. I figured I would make it available to anyone here that might want to use it. It basically allows you to specify the message that you would like stamped on the image, the font and size, the foreground color, the background shadow, the position of the message on the picture, a source directory and a destination directory. It will read all pictures from source directory, stamp them and save them in the destination directory.
You will need the .Net framework 1.1 in order to run it. It is available here if you do not have it:

Also read the Readme file for some quick instructions. This is not a refined and idiot prove application since I wrote it for me. I will fix it up as I get time and if I get requests to do so. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

You are all welcome. Let me know of ways to improve it and I'll put them on a wish-list for me to work on them when I get the time.

how about reading the "date picture taken" field from exif and adding it to the bottom of a picture - i'd like an easy way to do that
anyone have a way?

O.K. I put an updated version in the url above. This new version allows you to include tags in your message that will be replaced as follows:
<y> will be replaced with the year the picture was taken.
<m> will be replaced with the month the picture was taken.
<d> will be replaced with the day the picture was taken.
This information is retrieved from the EXIF data. An example might be:
O. Verona (c) <y> will generate: O. Verona (c) 2004
Note: If you are using PS Camera RAW plugin or CS Camera RAW to convert your RAW files, make sure you download the 2.1 version from Adobe (its free) since the previous version would mess with the EXIF data and store the Date Taken date in a different place.
EDIT: This version will now let you use the same directory for source and destination. It will warn you first but you must still be careful as this will overwrite your files in the source directory.

awsome - this is a great tool... especially for snapshots you want to print for friends and need the date...
a couple of more suggestions...
1. have a restore defaults button
2. allow saving of different configurations
one problem i have is the % of image thing - i think you need to have the offsets recalculated based on the percentage...
for example - the message text should stay the same size but also be in the same location.

I'll keep those suggestions in mind. I am working on allowing you to save the pictures as PSD with message on a separate layer.

Ovi this is a great little proggie! What offsets seem to work the best for everyone? Also what font looks good, I tried Still Time and it looks kinda neat.
thanks again.

Hickory,
Thanks. I start out with a 36 point font size and set my force to size to 25% for landscape and 30% for portrait. My landscape offsets are X: 5 Y: -3 and my portrait offset are X: 5 and Y:0. I am printing my copyright on tht bottom right and in a frame space that I create on the picture. When I get some time I will make the offsets be more consistent and predictable so that you don't have to do it via trial and error.

A nice little addition would be the possibility to process subfolders at the same time, and have the capability to put the font transparent.
Great proggy nevertheless!
And the price cannot be beaten! :)
Thanks,
Arno

I really haven't had time to touch this program in quite some time. I'll try to work on some of the suggestions in the next couple of weeks.
Thanks,

That's what I meant... :)
After using it for a few days, I must say that I love your app.
The option to process subfolders would be AWESOME! ;)
Thanks,
Arno

is it possible to put a rollover copyright into individual photographs so when they are viewed on the web a little pop up comes up and announces that the photo is copyrighted and by whom? I thought I had seen this on some photo's on the web somewhere but can't be sure.
Thanks Steve

I don't think this can be done via any watermarking tool. I believe this is achieve through the use of JavaScript which is processed by your web browser.
