Does anyone know how this effect can be achieved using Photoshop?
http://www.photopoints.com/main/photos/fullphotoview.aspx?pictureID=2C4EC5DC413CF060DC58A 2F072E272C286C495FE%206%20C749586F560FC&color=0000 00&javaColor1=1&javaColor2=2&javaColor3=3
All help is appreciated! :D

It was working a minute ago I tell ya! :(
Hmmm...
I cant copy it to my site cos its not mine so I guess I have no way of showing you...
I'll describe it:
The photo has a slight sepia cast to it (no problem, I can do that), it looks like its been torn at the edges & bent in one or two places. This is then placed on a larger black layer, you can also see the black in between some of the tears.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Gareth.

Perhaps contact the photographer of the image...

Found this in PhotoShop user mag...
This works better on some pics than others... Also I find it works best on a flattened image.
- Crop pic to size.
- Choose FILTER, EXTRACT
- Choose brush size
- With HIGHLIGHT TOOL, click on starting point in one corner (say left top corner) and release, now hold shift and click on ending point (right top corner). Repeat for all edges. (Alternatively you can just paint free hand, but this filter gives a sufficiently random effect).
- Add additional free hand short highlight strokes inside the resulting "green" highlighted border you have created if desired.
- With the FILL tool, fill in the main body of the pic.
Done.
