My wife and I had just finished eating and were enroute to the hospital for the doctor to induce her labor when we saw the engine and chief cars responding to a fire. Well, being the nosey guy that I am, and wanting to get some decent shots, I followed. These are from an apartment fire. There wasn't much smoke upon arrival. The aerial was extended to the roof, but no roof access was needed. The guys ventilated the apartment with PPV (positive pressure ventilation). C&C are ALWAYS welcomed on my images. I've been shooting a lot of stuff indoors, so I got some real blownout images. Took one shot at f/3.5 at 1/320. It was almost white. This day was one of the first days that were sunny in a mighty long time around here. The sun was out and had warmed up a bit. Ok, a little about the Spingdale tower image. As you can tell by the backgound, the apartments are on somewhat of a hill. The front tires of the tower were sitting on a slope to a storm drain so the angle was horrible.
