TC-DC52 converter with S2 or S3?

Has anyone tried using a Canon TC-DC52, 2.4x, Tele-Converter with a S2 or S3 camera. It has a 52mm size and should bolt right up with a 52mm Lensmate adapter.

Will it work? What kind of issues/results have you had in trying this combination?

Canon S2

I have the S3 and had bought that lens....IT WILL NOT WORK. Camera hunts and hunts to focus and when it does catch a focus its only for a spilt-second. Don't buy it.

Everything I can find on this converter indacates that it's intended for the "A" series Canon, not the "S" series. I have the TC-DC58B - 1.5 teleconverter for my S2 and it works great.
