I dropped my 2 week old A80 last night. It hit my concrete driveway. The camera still operates, as I continued taking and uplading pics. The top panel is bent and the front panel is as well. What kind of coverage does the 90 day warrantee have? What options do I have to get it fixed? I really would like to get it checked out to make sure it is working ok internally, though I am sure it most likely is. Thanks.

Bummer... I'm pretty sure Canon's warranty doesn't cover damage from dropping it. If your pics are in focus and the lens mechanism opens/closes without incident, then I'd say it's probably fine.

Since warranty does not cover damage that happens to the camera (water, impact, sand, heat...) but only materials and workmanship (quality control issues) it is extremely likely that a cost will be applied to repairing it :( Send it in, and see what they say.

Did you pay for it with your credit card? My Visa has a standard 180 days insurance for everything you buy with it.

If you payed with American Express, you are covered for 30 days. Otherwise, it's out of pocket for that one...
You can always give the cam to your kid and buy the Rebel....

Unfortnately, I didn't. I used the 90 day financing, so it looks like I'm SOL.

Well, it still works, so now you have a "beater".

As I read this thread, I moved my little camera away from the edge of the desk...

Well, it still works ok. I bought a replacement front and top for it so I'll get those swapped out and it should be good as new. Just an $80 mistake that I won't be making again.
