Hi,

I've noticed a slight rattling sound when I pick up my DR. It seems to be coming from aroudn the flash area. Is this normal?

Thanks.

Mine does it too. I blieve its the metal hinges. Also, You will sometimes notice another sound when you turn the camera on side to shoot portraits.. that is a little device that determines which way gravity falls to determine hoow to output the image on the LCD..

Yes it is normal. It is the hinges associated with the pop up/built in flash.

I notice a rattling sound whenever I pickup anything. Of course it's my knees. :(

My 10D also makes a slight rattle when I rotate it. I've never really investigated much, but my theory is that the noise is assoiciated with the image-orientation sensor--the autorotate feature. Does anybody know if this is right?

My dRebel makes noise whenever I drop it... Sounds a lot like shattering glass.

Bruce: OUCH! Shhhhhh Don't say things like that, gives me the heebee-geebees! Almost as bad as the thought of falling and scraping my teeth on the cement! :o

Ahh its just a few loose pixels. With 6 million of them how could you miss a few that fell out!

Previous poster had the real solution. Orientation sensor. They use a small ball inside. That rattle has been in camers since the early 90's.
