Anyone ever heard of Nisha or Asian brand macro filters? $20 vs $80 for a +10 Hoya is a good deal if they're not junk.

You get what you pay for.

I saw that reply coming a mile away...
But what physically would be different? Quality of glass? Coatings? I may be answering my own question..

go with tested stuff: Hoya, B+W. B+W +10 goes for $35 new (if I remember correctly).

Alright alright, I'll quit contemplating the no-name brands. But here's another question - why is the Canon 250D more than a Hoya +10 if the Canon is only +4?

I think that Canon stuff is always more expensive. Hoya is like an aftermarket item compared to Canon ;)
Anyway, you need a +10 lens or even a +10 stucked with another "+" if you really want to get close. It's actually a problem with B+W +10: it does not have a front thread.

House, take a look at the Nikon closeup lens, I have 2 4T's and am very happy with the sharpness and quality on my G5..can't go wrong with Nikon, and the price was right..I thought.

Yea, the no thread on the front turned me away from the B+W +10. I have the Canon 250D and it is ok, but I would like to get closer. I'll check out your lens, fishbonze...
