I thought this shot looked nice in B&W. It's an old barbed-wire fence at the farm near my house. The contrast of the grass against the sky looks better when the colours are removed I think.

id soften it slightly and add some film grain

There already is film grain.. when it was resized down to fit the web, it distorted a little... For softening... I really liked the hard edges (which look jagged on the resize).. with the contrast, it looks hard and rough... almost like you would get cut just touching it... even the grass looks dangerous!

Black and white is my life line when i take a picture and it doesnt look interesting, and this picture looks really good in black and white. Can you post the orig to compare?

Thats a wonderful example of showing how a horrible (no offense) picture can be turned into something wonderful with a simple b&w conversion :).
