..... he doesn't tell me that I don't know anything about photography. He is always a willing subject. I'm just getting into DSLR and may not know much yet, but I am having fun anyway.

Well, I had assumed that it was a goose until you mentioned swan. It is a permanent resident on a small lake (about 100 acres) near my house. The other residents are mostly ducks, cranes, and sea gulls. A few kingfishers have been spotted there, but it is hard to spot them in time to get a picture because of more difficult access to that part of the shore.

Well, he does hang around with ducks and thinks that he is one. I belive that he is a China Goose, but they look very much like the wild Swan Goose so I am not certain.
