I have 2 studio lights- 1 umbrella and 1 softbox

I am shooting small children and babies.

I am having some problems with shadows and I did not know if anyone had advice on the best way to setup my lighting system.

My studio is in a small space.

Any help would be appreciated!!!

Thank you

Without knowing the specifics of your setup or what types of shadows I would say that you probably have your subject too close to the background. You should try to have at least 6 feet from subject to background.

If you will post a problematic sample you will get focused help. Or even a more descriptive explination of the nature of your shadow problem.

"Shadows" from flash light exhibits itself in may forms.

How can advise be given if the nature of the shadows are unknown?

Robert took a very good guess at what your problem may be, and offered a very good solution. But, is that actually your problem?
