Hi...I just ordered a Pro1 from McBains in Canada yesterday..and they are shipping it no charge today :D ...my Question is ..can anyone suggest the best 256meg CF card for this camera ...anyone have any experience there ? I'm looking at a Sandisk for about $90cdn maybe there is a faster write speed one which I should be looking at ? 12x ? 40x? is it really going to make much difference ? Lexar? Sandisk ? or better ?
Thanks for any input !

No tips on speed but I would say get at least a 512 card. I use a 256 for my G3 and still max it out at times.

Thx for the suggestion ! ...Actually I jumped the gun a bit by ordering my Pro1 ...hadnt felt it in the hand first before ordering online ..silly me !...just went to a camera shop and felt the camera for the first time ....I was disappointed in the small size ...too small for my hand ...and the electronic viewfinder had raster lines thru it and just didnt feel right .....Oh well ...looks like I'll be going to a Digitel Rebel or D70 ...really want the camera to feel nice in the hand.

The D70 is now available in Vancouver. Seems like a lot nicer build than the Digital Rebel. Nice screen protector on the back and better glass on it too. I know this is "Canon country", but the D70 is a really nice camera.
The 256MB CF is available from Costco for $74.

Better get a 512 MB CF card. The 256 will give your < 50 photos on the Pro1 or 10D if you use RAW mode (which many people agree is a smart thing to do). With that, you would have to switch cards quite often.
I have found the 1 GB Microdrive to be quite suitable (albeit a little slow) for my 4 MP G3 ... gives me some 350 RAW pictures which is just about sufficient for a one day sight-seeing trip. On a 10D, I'd rather go for two 512 MB CF cards (100 RAW pitures each).
Best regards,
Andy
