OK Last one.. I don't promise. :D

Sigma 50-500mm f/4.0-6.3 EX APO RF HSM

or save the $200 and get the 70 - 200mm f2.8 Sigma.

Does anyone have any pics of the Sigma at 500mm? Is it worth carrying the extra weight.. Or even at that, Is it worth the extra weight of the f2.8 from the Canon F4L? I plan on minimal indoor photography with this lens.. If none at all.

Thanks

OK... my opinion for what it's worth.

First you need to decide whether you need a 500mm lens or a 200mm lens... there's a pretty big difference there and only you can make that decision. It's going to depend on what you are shooting and how close you can get to it.

Then you will be in a better position to make a decision. As far as I can see you aren't comparing apples to apples here....

The two lenses are totally incomparable.. for different tasks... different lighting,. different subjects...

... when I first got y 10D I answered this question the easy way...

I got BOTH!!!!!

Both are excellent lenses and terrific values.
You'll be happy with both,.. the question you need to be asking is.. "which do I buy first?"

If you tell us what your intended use is, we may be able to advise you as to which is better suited to the task you have in mind.

Ha, Thanks guys, I think I decided I will go with the 70-200 and get the 2X extension. That should fill what I'm trying to get still give me the ability to shoot indoor pictures.. and cost me less then buying both lenses. I have the Canons 17-40L and 28 - 70L and 50 MkII already.. I have the 55-200mm Canon el cheapo because I didn't have the money at the time and needed a little bit of a telephoto. Plus, I'm surprised, but that lens has little CA for such an inexpensive lens. but I want something sharper.
