While shooting recently with my S2IS in auto mode I discovered that if I switch to manual and use the same shutter and aperture settings the picture will be extremely overexposed and the color will take on a greenish cast. Am I missing something here? Shouldn't the results be the same?

What I HATE about the S2/3 in auto mode is that it does not specify the ISO used. It is just Auto ISO or High ISO. There are other settings besides aperture and shutter speed in consideration. Im guessing that when you switched back to M it was at ISO 800. Generally shots should be underexposed when in M at the same settings as in Auto. This is because you cant tell the ISO the camera is using (and its usually higher then you would like) when using the camera in Auto mode.
Hope this makes sense.
