Hi guys, 2nd time out with the Canon f2.8 100mm macro, a butterfly and 100% crop of it's eye, I'm amazed at the detail thats showing, as usual any comments or critique most welcome, I know I've still got loads to learn, but I'm having lots of fun !
Cheers,
Alan.

Well done, excellent shot, plenty of details! Wish I could find some Butterflies that would stay still for more than a nano second...

good detail but not keen on the obviously artificial lighting.

Yeah know what you mean about the lighting racketman, must read my flash manual and work out how to set different levels for each side of the ring

Beautifully done Alan..... Your lighting is exceptional!! I heavily disagree with any criticism about it....No hot spots or reflection, and shows detail beautifully....I have a lot of respect for RM but this is a personal preference area that certainly suits my taste...... Nice work.....Alex

thanks for the comments Alex (must admit I kinda like the lighting too ! ) and Brian, wow hairy eye's !, bet they must tickle !, have never see anything like that, is that a common thing ? or just specific to a few species.
Thanks, Alan

Think all the butterflies I've got close enough to to see this have had hairy eyes- moths don't seem to go in for them though.
