A couple from today's Sonatina Festival organized by the Pikes Peak Music Teachers Association. The first photo is of my 8 year-old son playing Peskanov's Sonata, and the second one is of my 9 year-old performing Mier's Seafarer's Sonatina, mvt. 1. Of course no flash was allowed inside this grand but lowlit church. Took with my 24-70 at ISO 1600, 1/60 sec, so I knew I was gambling with the results... All comments appreciated.

These are nice captures of your boys. They must be very talented. These shots look like they might benefit a little from a little USM to enhance local contrast (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?p=2830268#post2830268) a bit.

Thanks for viewing and the tip. I use USM frequently, but not this particular technique. I'm going to try it right now! :D

Okay, here's the new versions with the high local contrast technique... I see the subtle differences and improvements. Thanks again! :D

I think the edits are a bit over saturated. MAybe set the blend mode of the USM layer to 'luminouscity'?
Nice shots. Pity #1 is just off center / skewed
