ixus 500 exploding diagram

Hi,

Does anyone know where I can download an Ixus 500 exploding diagram.

A grey plastic 'L' type bit fellout of the front when I took the front cover off and I need to workout where it goes.

In case you're wondering, I dismantled the cover to fix the 'memory card error' by removing the internal battery and inserting it again.

That's great - thanks. I can't actually see anything for an IXUS 500. Or will it be under another name?

Try the IXUS 400. It should be pretty similar. I should mention that depending on where you are in the world, the model numbers are different. At least in Japan compared to the UK. Also, in Japan, they're called IXI, not IXUS.

I know where the piece fits. The only reason I know is I had access to a 2nd Ixus 750 and took the front off to have a look

As you look at the front of the camera with the cover off there is a mic that matches up with a small hole on the outer case (on mine the chip/mic is labelled S538 620) to the top left of the lens The piece fits on with the shorter tab at the top and the longer towards the lens. There is a hole which should match up with the hole in the rubber L shaped piece.

I guess it's there to try and isolate the external sound from the sounds made by the camera.
