I predict the launch of the Canon EOS 70D. It will have 18 megapixels, ISO 4,096,000 whose noise levels are equal to today's ISO 100. And the EOS 1D Mark V would have just come out with octo-core DIGIC IV's which can do 18 megapixels at 18 FPS. A 60 FPS mode is available but blanks out the viewfinder (this is not a video mode though). The 1D Mark V will have an additional folder called "burst_###" with subfolders and a separate processor will detect and delete blurry photos during a burst. Unfortunately for professionals and all you CF-loyal people and fortunately for cellphone users the 1D Mark V will have an automatic card interchanger for it is able to house up to 200 nano-pico SDs.

Fujifilm, Kodak, Olympus, Panasonic and Pentax merge into a company called Fudakopanatax, which manufactures eye glasses and contact lenses. Samsung decides it can make more profit by manufacturing furniture with better quality than Ikea's crappy products instead of fighting with Canon for cameras or Nokia for phones. Sony decides to stick with compact cameras and abandons their DSLRs.

In 2012, the best news for Canon dSLR users is 1)Canon would release an addition 75 new lenses seeing that year is their 75th anniversary and 2)Canon would announce later that year that as a "birthday bash", they would buy up Nikon.

Not to mention we would see Canon-Toshiba TVs and Canon-LG refrigerators...

According to the Aztec calendar, isn't 2012 the end of the world when all the planets line up.

Never mind, keep smiling and take lots of photos.

A POTN member digs this post up from its grave and revives it for all to see. Members then laugh at the dreadful inaccuracies of predicted gasoline prices (which are, by then, 20.50 a gallon). Good news is most cars can run 240 miles to the gallon. Right?
