Okay, I've shot a lot of weddings by now... but this is my first ever attempt at senior photos. I'd like to try more of these, so let me know what you think:

And which do you prefer ... B&W or color?

Well composed shots! My only real comment is a desire for a little more hair light in a couple of the shots. I don't like to see hair disappear like it does in the middle shot of the first group (it could be my monitor). The last picture in the first post is a great example of what I like to see with the hair.

I like the color over the B&W.

The DOF of the railing in #6 is very distracting and hard on the eyes.

Lovely shots! I particularly like the ones outside. What lighting did you use for the ones outside - just a fill flash?

Mostly just fill flash. I also used a slave for some shots, but I didn't post any examples of those. The only indoor photos are the very last one of the first group, and the one that I showed B&W and Color. The rest are all outdoors.

Yeah, in studio I use a hair light. Since those were shot outdoors, I didn't play around much with the light (though I did have a slave flash with me, in those particular shots I didn't use it).

These look really nice You did a good job with them. The poses in all of them are good. The only thing I see is the one horizontal photo her eyes look like cat eyes to me and FREAKS me out.

That's the way her eyes really look. I think they are cool. :-)

nice photos. good job. for the last two I like the color version. with the second outdoor photo at the top, I think if you added a reflector or a gold reflector to her it would have matched her nicely with the background. imo it could have helped a little bit more. nice job with the photos.

They have that diamond cat eye shape instead of the circle? For real? I don't know why but that freaks me out... I think its from seeing the thriller video when i was a child...

The are still nice photos..

Yeah... When we first met, I made the major faux pas of asking her if her eyes were "okay", if she could "see alright". Then I realized how stupid I was for asking her, I mean, yes she does so okay, but what if the answer had been no? It'd be like making fun of someone's "lisp" or something. Anyway, she appeared not to have minded the comment and we got along great!

I think these are excellent and the "rail" shot is my favorite as well. On the color/bw question, color is my favorite.

I think that you have done quite well! Obviously, your wedding experience has enhanced your skills with a camera.

Very nicely done. I like pretty much all of them very much including the rail shot... i also prefer colour over the B&W version.

I like # 1! In #2 her right arm looks amputated. In # 3, the camra was too low empahsizing the sweater and her elbow. Raise the camera up about three feet and shoot down on her. This will emphasize her face not her elbow. Also the black background in 3-4 and 5 is just a plain black background. Something with some texture, color or just some illumination would be more interesting than just plain old black. # 6 her shoulders are square to the camera naking her look big.
