Sunny day in Collingwood

Hey Guys, I have a new XTI and I still suck at taking pictures with it. How did I do with this one?

We all sucked! ( at one time) that's why you keep shooting!

I like the first. Good composition, good exposure, nice textures. But the second (unfortunately) is overexposed, has clipped hightlights and lacks composition. /Dan

Hello, and welcome to POTN! Dont be too hard on yourself. It takes time to develop an eye that allows you te see everythihng the way the camera is going to see it. Your first picture is great. It has great character and depth. It draws me into the picture wanting to look for more.

The second is a little less inviting. The background is oversaturated and blurred(intentionaly im sure) but when doing this it causes the eye to focus on the object in the forgorund completely. In this image it doesnt pull in the viewer like the first. Its a little wahsed out and i can see you in the relfection of the sunglasses.

Keep at it, it will come together.
