Boycot the 30D kits make Canon eat the inventory and come up with a vastly upgraded 20D

haha fair enough.
What's the bet that the 40D will be a small increment on the 30D... megapixels might increase to 12, possibility of Digic III (doubtful before the 5D II and 1Ds III).. still at 5fps. Probably not much else.
Or you can buy a 5D like I just did, woo hoo, best camera ever! (that I've used in my lmiited experience! :D)

Uh-oh, I just bought a 30D with lens last December :p . I've been getting some really nice pictures though and pictures that would have been impossible without the high-speed response of a digital SLR. Oh well... grab your camera, go out and take some pictures and worry about "replacements" later.

Or another way to look at it:
The slower the 30D sells, the longer it will take Canon to get through their inventory, so they will delay the release of the 40D even longer!
So everybody go by a 30D, then I can have a 40D sooner:)

I think in addition to the MP etc. mentioned above the 30D replacement will get the dust removal system, and it will probably get upgraded autofocus, since the 30D's AF went into the XTi/400D.
Have Fun,

Actually, one way that Canon could get rid of their 30D stock, is simply announce a full frame 40D. Then every one like me who wants to upgrade, but doesn't want to replace their lenses would rush out and buy a 30D.

No way, no full frame 40D please. Some of us need the extra reach of a cropped sensor plus high speed... if the 40D is full frame, I'm afraid I'll have move to Nikon
