This works better then anything I've ever used (Neat Image, FM). Its free, the pro version is to come.

Not bad.. free is nice,. but I have no use for any NR program I can't use in PS... there is so much more I can do with even a "lesser" NR program when I can combine it's functions with the power of layers.. and the History brush.

Its fast and it doesn't lose detail (to extent that others do). I'll forego integration in a second for those qualities. I'm sold.

I guess my thinking is particualrly where loosing details is concerned.. (or more to the point NOT loosing details)
....is that with ANY Noise Reducing program used in a PS layer,. you can save ALL the details far better than this tool will...
This is the very reason I will only use NR in PS.. I won't sacrifice any detail at all that way.

CDS, you know that you can accomplish that by saving the grainy original as a layer, and bring in the processed one as a new layer ...

Good point Ilya. Hey CDS, what do you use for NR in PS? Is it available in PS7? I'm currently using Neat Image and I'm pretty happy with it, but if there's better, I'm open to consideration. :) Thanks for the link Ilya... I just might give that a try.

I use "Grain Surgery" and "Digital Gem"... and the occasional "Image Doctor"
Grain Surgery is by far the more serious of the three... Digital Gem is quick and effective..
Ilya,. I had done the "import the clean version as a second layer along with the original into PhotoShop" technique...
But it took almost as much time to do as it took me just now to type; "import the clean version as a second layer along with the original into PhotoShop"
But,. if ever Grain Surgery fails me, I have this lovely freebie to have another go.
It does do a great job.. and for free!!!!!! 8) :)

I'm all about free when PS CS and other programmes are that expensive!
