Hi.

Took some Macro photos today in my backyard.
I used the super macro feature & got in as close as I can.

ISO is set at 200, I did use NeatImage just a tad to eliminate some of the noise at ISO200, I than used Unsharp Mask in Photoshop to sharpen more.
I think the results turned out great.

I plan to purchase the Lens adaptor & 500D closeup filter in the near future.

Really good results :D .

The Neatimage cleaned it up pretty well. I love shots of insects well certain ones, flies I just dont' care for too much but they can be picture worthy. I need a G3 or G5 (can't afford the Pro 1 just yet), I am :x dying to try the Super Duper Uber macro trick. That Super Macro mode does wonders with 8 mp, I can only imagine the results you would get from printing out a full size high-res image.

Oh by the way welcome to the forums.

Those are terrific Phillip! Guess you used ISO200 to get some extra DOF?

Here's a bug I found a few minutes ago. Supermacro mode. Note that the camera reduces to 4MP in this mode it does not use 8MP...

Thanks for the comments.

I am glad you like my photos. I am new to Macro photography, always wanted to try out some macro work, but never had a opertunity till I bought my Pro1.

Funny story with the ISO200, I planed to take the photos in ISO50, but I went to 200 on the first photo I took because it was in the shade in a dark part in my garden, I than forgot to change back to ISO50, They where in sunlight the majority of them so there would of been no problems with using ISO50. I did thought the shutter speed was a bit fast. I should of checked. In fact it even tells you on the viewfinder at all time what ISO your in. I was just concentrating on the shot so much that I never even noticed what ISO I was in.

Hi,

Went for a drive today, pulled over the side of the road for a break & saw this spider on the side of the road, so I quickly grabbed my Powershot Pro1 camera & took a photo in Macro mode.

I am surprised it turned out as sharp as this. It's the only photo I took of the spider as the wind was blowing a gale. the spider is about 6 feet of the ground on the spider web, so the spider was moving about in the wind a lot. I did not think the AF of the Pro1 would kept up with it. so I expected it to be a delete job when I got home. It turned out great I think.

Phillip,

You've captured some great shots. Have fun with the Pro1 and let us see some more results.

I must say they are very nice photos...

I am wondering why the camera would use 4mp however when you use supermarco mode...

I have no idea, I want to know the answer to this question as well.

But I don't find it a problem, because I had a 11 x 13 inch printed at 4MP & the quality is great.

I think I have read somewhere it uses a 4M area in the middle of the sensor for supermacro as there is some vignetting from the lens at these higher magnifications and by using the middle area you remove the problem.

That's my theory.
