Those trees wreaked havoc on your stitching software...what did you use? I've just gotten PTGui (http://www.ptgui.com), and i'm not even sure what it would do with trees :)

It's all very ...dingy-looking. That's just the way winter is, but some adjustments in post wouldn't hurt. Really not bad for a first go, only one really visible seam :)

This looks like some of my attempts with the packaged canon software. It's not that difficult to see all three seams. I would suggest trying some other program (I use autostitch, but there are other good ones as well) and try this again. Panoramas can be really fun and addicting, so keep at it.

Are these free programs?

Autostitch is, but I really don't know about others that are suggested around this forum. Hopefully some other members can give you more information on the programs that they use.

Mind me asking where I can get autostich?

PTGui is simply awesome, but at $90, you have to be really into the whole panorama thing ;)

as a newbie here I have to say you all are really good at what you do. I had a hard time spotting the seams, but I did see a slight double image on one of the light poles on the right side.
The overall image reminds me of how much I look forward to spring and all it's color.

Clueless, may I politely draw your attention to the image posting rules (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=51050)? We're not supposed to post images larger than 800 pixels on a side. What you can do, however, is post a smaller image with a link to a larger one - or even make the small image the link - like I did, for example, in this thread (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?p=2870982).

Anyway, looking at your panorama, I'm afraid I can also see all 3 seams. Better stitching software will definitely help. I started off using Canon PhotoStitch, and then when I found examples which it couldn't handle I moved on to AutoStitch, and now I'm using PTAssembler (http://www.tawbaware.com/ptasmblr.htm). This is a front-end for the Panorama Tools stitching engine, as is PTGui (http://www.ptgui.com/) which was mentioned earlier, but PTAssembler is free. It has more controls than the other programs I've used, but the downside of that is that you have to learn how to use them! But it does produce awesome results - as, I'm sure, does PTGui.

That apart, however, I think the main issue with your panorama is that it's a bit dull. Two minutes work in PhotoShop could give it a bit more saturation and contrast and I think it would look a lot better.

I look forward to seeing the Mark II version of this!
