Pretend this is a LuminousLandscape and forget about quality.
This question is about function.

Will my 100-400 f3.5-4.5L IS with a 1.4 TC autofocus on the 1DmkII?
It won't on the D60, but a EOS 1V shooter said it should on the MKII.

Can anyone interpret what we know about the MKII and tell me it will.
That would give me a 728mm f/8, which could be usable for some subjects..

Yes, it will work at F8, the same as the standard 1D, albeit the AF will be a bit slower.

I can run my 100-400L+1.4x with my 1D but I find you really need good lighting. IMHO, yes it works but it isn't practical.

Not that it is a huge thing... but FYI when your max aperture is smaller than f/5.6 on the current 1 cameras.. AF drops down to Center focus point only.

But AF Definately still works. :) You just loose the 45 point AF... and thus the focus tracking etc...
