Built in 1954, this Standard Class 4 (2-6-4) Tank is seen gleaming in pristine condition in British Railways standard Black livery.
Now in preservation on the Swanage Railways heritage line, it's seen at Swanage Station about to join the 11:15 departure for Corfe Castle & Norden; when...
... aaahhh the memories of being able to stick your face out of the window, and get covered in soot & s**t & c**p & stuff! Fantastic! :D :D :D

Nice. A lot of work obviously went into that. You sound like a former train driver. Nice pictures too.

Very nice, I only live about 25 mins drive from Norden & Corfe Castle and have visited this line many times over the years - They've done a good job restoring the line.

No - not a driver... the only train-set I got to play with was my little kids set-up, many, many, many years ago!

I agree. I've ridden a few heritage/preservation lines over the last couple of years, and this was a very slick operation. What was interesting to see was that ALL the volunteer staff had big grins all over their faces! It really is a case of "Big Boys Toys" with this lot!
Nice shots
Thanks Mike.
Cheers;
