He posted those same pics in the "pro" forum at Fred Miranda..
They were very polite while they tried to explain the deficincies of the camera without insulting the photographer who took the images..
Personally I felt the clipped reds and blown highlights were more the photographers fault.
I thought the statement that the Rebel is heavier and therefore felt "cheasier" was an odd comment.. usually it's the other way around.

Indeed, infact it's partly why i could justify $100 on a battery grip

i don't know if we can trust all the posted pics on the net...
Does anyone know if nikon has posted sample images from the D70 ?
I searched at their site and didn't find anything...
while canon did post sample images from the DRebel.
Is this a sign that image quality of the DRebel is better ?

If this forum has taught me anything, it's that bodies come and go but you "choose sides" based on lens selection. Lenses stay, bodies change. Canon makes better lenses and that's all there is to it.

I wonder how "cheesy" a 35 pound iron dumbell would feel. :)

Well, so far, I'm convinced that Canon makes better bodies as well. Of course, with technology in a relatively young stage, that is subject to change.

Agreed. I have been reading about a very experienced german pro that has been shooting with Nikon for decades, then switched to Canon mostly just because of the lens, and his explanation was _very_ convincing.

You sure it was in the Pro forum over there? I can't seem to find it, but that certainly wouldn't be a first for me.

Its in the Nikon forum - I just checked it out.
I also download one of the images and checked the histogram - Red is indeed blown out, but I bet he has the saturation on the camera all the way up. The colors are much bolder than the real scene.
I will say that his lens seems to be pretty sharp.

I have a Nikon F5 and the lenses to go with it. I bought a Nikon D100 a year ago and returned it. I bought a 10D because I love the color rendition on my G2, and a bunch of Canon glass. Nobody does color in digital like Canon!

BTW, I came about "this" (holding fingers close together) close to buying one of Ozzie's "L" lenses when he got out of Canon gear. It was the 24-70, I believe. But someone else got it first.
