When my income tax come in hopefully next week I think I gonna treat my self to this lens. Does anybody know of a better lens in the same price range of should I stick to this one. B&H has it for $199 for canon

I have it and love it... Personally I think it has good focus and pretty good speed, although it can be touchy at time to what it is focusing on. If you any action shots with this lens you can check out my photo gallery of Basketball shots.
I'm probably heading out in a little bit to get some outdoor shots, I'll post a couple later on.

This lens does a good job of close-ups using the Macro feature. Handheld above 1/250 in great light will produce some really nice closeups. I was pleasantly surprised.

i've got this lens. i've been quite happy w/it. doesn't come out of the bag as often as it could. but, i've certainly got some good use out it. for the money, it's a good deal.

I had this lens and I wasn't disappointed with it. I had the opportunity to purchase a used Sigma 70-200 which is the only reason that I do not have it anymore. For the money, it can't be beat.
