Thanks! It's a 2008. I try to keep it clean - brake dust is an issue on the front wheels, but it seems to be common on European cars. It's been a great car, I mean SUV. I wish it was a AWD V8 though.

I had the FWD 5-cylinder but the turbo had a problem and thats the reason had to sell it. If it wasn't for that i would have it today.

park it quarter-parallel under the window or smth and take some closeups there to get a little composition out of it.
auto functions are quite cool though. if the conditions are ok for the camera to decide what to do...

not sure on the rear tips (should be 1 muffler with 2 tips) but the car is very clean and the pics are great. Id just get closer to the car or go far away and zoom in (to have the *distance* type of shots which are nice too)

maybe try to find standing water/puddle and to get reflective shots (but try to show the full reflection of the car in the water, not half).

No - its a custom Porsche 356 built by Dean Jeffries in California in 1957. He is famous as the creator of many cars for movies and television like the Monkeemobile, the Green Hornet and the Landmaster from Damnation Alley.

You shoulda hung around for the seminar ....

As you know Dean Jeffries was on the panel along with George Barris, Chip Foose, Beau Boeckmann, Wayne Cherry and Steve Pasteiner. They each got up and talked about the car they brought to the seminar - in Dean's case it was the Mantaray. After they finished there was a group question and answer session and then Bill Warner called Dean down off the podium for a special presentation.

While Bill kept Dean distracted looking out towards the audience Bill's crew swept the curtain beside the stage aside and pushed the Porsche out from where it had been hidden. It was a special surprise for Dean as he hadn't seen the car since he sold it in 1962.It literally brought Dean to tears to be reunited with the car that launched his career as a customizer. He said it was "bitchin" to see his old car again.

The Porsche is in the middle of a three year restoration effort and is scheduled to be on the show field at next years Amelia Island Concours. We brought it down in primer just for the seminar as a special favor for Bill Warner who wanted to surprise Dean. The car was only displayed at the seminar and I took the opportunity to roll it over next to the Mantaray for a few photos. That was fun and it was very gratifying to see Dean's reaction to the car - it meant a lot to him and to me to have him approve of what we are doing with his old Porsche.

We even made arrangements to have the Glasurit paint rep in Los Angeles go by Dean's shop to let him tell us what the paint color should be - its a spectacular custom mixed pearlescent silver that matches what Dean originally sprayed on the Porsche in 1957.

They are actually OEM. Bought 'em like that right from Volkswagen. Trying to keep the R as oem+ as possible.

They are actually OEM. Bought 'em like that right from Volkswagen. Trying to keep the R as oem+ as possible.

After only 28 miles of spirited driving tonight... WOW!

These things hook hard! I can now blast through turns with confidence and not worry that my over weight pig of a car is going to slide out of control on the OEM tires. :eek::eek:

Very cool! I've wanted Nitto Invos for a while, but I can't justify spending the money and just needing new tires in 15-20k. I'm happy to see a VW owner admit that their car has a few extra pounds, but even so, I'd still love an R32. In blue. With Nitto Invos. Darn you...

well i sold the canon because i had lost my job about 2yrs ago... and i had to get my car back on the road... so i sold it... and then got the nikon to try something different... and i honestly think that the nikon is a little easier to use.... but anyways.... im back just sharing some photos :)

I actually debated buying one instead of the 40d i'm gonna buy when i sold my xti, now i am cameraless until i order my 40d :(
