After Timmy's post on considering a new bike I thought it would be a good idea to start a "Show Your Ride" topic rather than hijack Timmy's topic.
So here is mine and me. Not the best shot of the bike. It's a 2000 GT Avalanche, XT drive train with LX braking. No disc's  . Z2 Bombers and Rhino lites. I've outgrown it and would love to upgrade but my next bike is waaay out of budget for me. $3400.00 CDN for the Specialized Epic.

Here's a couple of pics I found on the 'net...
It is an M reg Volvo 440...In the UK they use regs or registrations to tell the year. In this case, the licence plate is M812 MPR making it an M reg. The older ones would have been like MPR 812M. The latter is also known as the first time thru or around. The newest regs I have seen are 04, and other than running out of letters in 2001, the 01/51 (2nd half of 2001) reg, I can't imagine why they went this way. They went in 2002 to 02/52; 2003 was 03/53 and so on. There are some letters that are not used/special designation. Letters I, O, S, U, V, Z, I have not seen. The letter Q is reserved for kit cars. Here are a few pics:

Maybe, but when I test rode the Epic it was soooooo sweet. By the time I'm able to afford it there will likely be a new desire for me to drool over anyway.
The way things are right now it seems the way for me to go is to build one a bit at a time. Then I won't have to drop a few g's all at once. I know it's the more expensive way to go but I guess that's the trade off for getting exactly what you want.

Hmmmm. I've done Sun Peaks but Whistler has always been in the plans. I go to Squamish lots, so I'll have to check it out. I know what's going to happen too. I'll ride one then end up hating my GT.

I'd love to try that tandem on a Burnaby moutain downhill. That's where the photo of me was taken. I know it's not meant for it but hey, That's why they call me Mad Dog. Some even call me Crash Dog. 8)

If they made one with the "handicap-stall" sized seat, it might be a great seller. Stores like WalMart could use them instead of those silly electric carts.

The S I have is 320 (L). From now on, and if I decide to get another S, it has to be either 430 or 500. V6 on the S just doesn't cut it.

Chubby Dragon, Nice mustang.

Not that great a picture but here's my 2001 Diamante. 3.5L V6, 210hp but 233lbs of torque. It tends to surprise the honda ricers a bit.

And here's our mustang. 1966, Inline 6, automatic. Engine has been totally cleaned out and looks and runs like it's out of the factory. Picture taken during a MASSIVE fire next to our neighborhood. What else to do but take pictures huh?

Well, It's going fine. Had a lot of great service since Christmas. My team even got to "hang around" with the United States Marine Corps for two weeks, when they participated in a big NATO-exercise in Norway. We my team where giving their main CO communications during the exercise. It was really cool, and their colonel gave me a "Commanders coin" for great work when we left them at the end of the exercise. That really made my own captain jealous, cause he didn't get one =)

The last months, and until July 14th, I'm one of 21 guys/and girls from my battalion who've been offered officer training, and therefore are having a lot of education and exams in things such as leadership, phsycology etc, and if I pass my remaining exams, I'll be a sergant* from 14th July. Will then try to apply for one of the five open sergant-positions in this battalion (communications) next year, along with a position in the "Electronic Warfare" company located another battalion (Intelligence).

If I get one of those, I'm happy to stay in the army for another year or two. If I don't, well then it's back to studies next year :) So no matter what happens, I'm looking forward to next year :)

So greetings from corporal Hoel ;) :
http://kernelpanic.no/images/GBU_ild_og_bevegelse/img_7687.jpg

No, the dices are unfortunately not issued :/

In Norway, as opposed to the U.S, a sergant is the lowest ranking officer, and you therefore need to go through officer-training (either one year at officer school, or a couple months additional education after finishing your drafted year)

Thanks Jet. I've loved the old Mustangs since I was 13 or so. When I turned 16, the first car I bought was a '66 Mustang with a little inline 6. Had it until my 3rd year in college when it threw a rod. It ended up being towed to a junkyard, I think -- but that's a long, sad story that I won't bore anyone with here.

in 6th, she'll do about 75mph... and I'm getting ready to put a bigger engine on her, along with a billet flywheel and a "worked" carb... :) oh man, I can't wait for the season to start...

My buddies were part of that race.... I've been on the tractor that the Prince rides in the movie... I actually just picked up one just like it... I'm thinking about changing it into a racer... but I already have 2, and how many can I ride at once? :) although, they are for 2 different classes... so I'm not *really* riding them both at once... but after running 35 laps on each of them, I'm beat...

Heh, when I get my twin done, it'll top out around 90mph or so... on a REALLY smooth surface... not that I'll take it that fast... I don't trust my tires after about 50mph...

That works. ;)
My brother had a 67 Covette Roadster with a stock 300 HP 327, and it could move pretty good with it. Later, we decided to make it go Faster at the drags, and put a built 350 in it so we wouldn't blow up the numbers correct original engine.
We finished it just in time for the Corvette vs Mustang grudge match race sponsored at the strip out here back in the early 80's. That car ran real well. :D

I found that focusing is the main problem on white car. It seems that putting the focus at where the body and window meets does help... always blurry or not as sharp if i put the focu at white.....

Lone Wolf, I have a question. It is a nice car, and a nice shot. . . . just out of curiosity, why do you feel that it is necessary to cover up your license plate?

I think that takes something away from a nice car shot. Are there people out there that will see your license number and steal your car? Maybe I'm missing something, but I just don't worry about that when I post pics of my car. I drive all over the country with my plates totally exposed. Am I doing something wrong?

Don't mind me, I'm older and more curiouser. . . . .

Eric DeCastro

some people see your car and want to steal it. they use your licence plate to find info about the owner. where he or she lives, then they can follow them a little and find out their routine maybe a VIN, get a key cut thenthe next thing you know your car is gone. it's just a little protection for the owners of the vehicles.

it's really easy to get a key, I have friends that work at a dealership and they made about 200 copies of one of our friends car (that worked there also) and they used to move his car around the lot during work so he would have to search for his car everyday.

I've posted the pic on other sites and I didn't want to advertise my license plate. Would it look better if I just blurred the plate in Photoshop? As Eric DeCastro said, you would be surprised how easy it is for a wannabe criminal to get a lot of your personal information just from your tag number. In some cases, if they are resourceful enough, they can figure out your home address from your tag number.

That makes sense and all, and have always wondered. I see cars on the road all the time and can write down those tag numbers if I wanted. If I wanted to know where someone libes I can go down any street, see the car in the driveway, and get the tag number.

So what's the difference between posting a pic of your tag on line, and seeing your tag in person, or better yet seeing your car & tag at your house?????

Not trying to be offensive, personnally I don't see the big deal. Just don't understand the logic.

I guess that's true to some extent. There's not really much I can do if a burglar is casing the neighborhood or my car. I wonder which is more likely: a criminal perusing the internet, seeing my tag, deciding he wants to steal my car and burglarize my home vs. one driving by, seeing the car and house, and deciding to strike? Now you've piqued my curiosity.

Nice shot ObiJuan. I'm always looking for cool locations to shoot my car (and that's a nice one), but so far I've come up empty.

Paul,
Sorry, I didn't mean to start anything. I guess if you feel safer blocking out your tags, then by all means continue to do so. I just didn't quite get the logic in thinking that someone across the country, or across the world, would see your tag on a post and arrange to come to where you live to steal your car. I have seen others do it in posts as well, but just never quite understood.

My feeling is, if someone really wants to steal my car, they probably will. . . . and it will most likely be someone local. I don't see thieves as people who want to put a lot of work into what they do. . . if they did, they would probably have a real job and not prey on those of us that do work hard for what we have.

Again, I didn't mean to run this thread off course. I love cars, and am enjoying the pics. Keep them coming!

P.S. Any car thieves out there who are photographers, pleas join in . . . lets see your rides too!   Just kidding.
