hi all
took a pic of a really upmarket "hotel" here in South Africa - what do u think.
I think my conversion might be a tad flat.... but let me know what u think please

one of the better conversions Iv seen around here.
ditch the black border it don't work with it at all.
Id crop the corner of the forground building out.

remove border/crop/add some film grain/brightness tweak.

should have cropped out the white rectangle at the bottom right hand side in my edit.

like this Strmrdr...
i croped all funny bits out, added +6 in brightness, don't like the grainy effect....
this better

well im kinda a b/w snob and love film grain.
Most of my photography experence was 20 years ago and was 95% b&w had my own darkroom.
edit: more like 99% b/w
Your latest edit is fine I like it.

any critiques on the actual pic though - lines, shadows etc?

pic itself looks fine to me.
I like the way the trees frame it.
Id like to see a front shot of the building which will take a fairly wide angle lens to get.
