I found these guys in a tree in my backyard. They're a nocturnal bird. Sleeping during the day on the branch of a tree. (most birds do I suppose) It simulates the bark of the branch so closely that they are difficult to locate, but they are fairly common.
This is where my camera skills let me down. Bright sky, dark birds. The perfect opportunity gone begging. At least I can show off some Aussie birds.

Difficult shots to make. Eposure and focus are great, but the birds weren't cooperating. I assume ,their being Frogmouths' that their beaks are rather interesting, but you can't see them.

Awesome birds, would love to see these one day. I hope you get some more shots where you can see them a bit better. But just to see them must be a thrill!

Awesome birds, if you search this forum for tawny frogmouth, you will find a post(near bottom of search list) showing one with mouth wide open and someone feeding it a mouse. I would love to see one in person.
