I have worn glasses all my life. I ahve two pairs, Distance and reading. I ahve been photographing for a few years now and use distance to take pics... But I can't see the viewer properly to "chimp" and I ahve to know the controls .. My eyes really are quite bad and I can't see close up with distance on. As I photograph sport I ahvent time to be swapping glasses.

I got my first ever bifocals last friday and have photographed 4 football matches since.. What a pleasure it is to be able to clearly see through the eypiece,,take a shot then look at it in the viewfinder without squinting and still getting a fuzzy image... To be able to shoot and chimp properly... Its amazing and I am really happy..

You none glasses people don't know what ya got :)

Bit iffy on stairs and driving the car.. not to mention first time i went to pee... but otherwise fantastic things these bifocals :)

How 'bout that modern technology, eh? LOL. What, pray tell, were you waiting for?

I went the Monovision route so I wouldn't have to wear glasses. One eye is for distance and the other for close work. It takes a while to get used to it, but I like it.

I know the feeling. I've been wearing them for years and just in the last three years or so I've gone to trifocals (the middle distance is for the computer screen and the car instruments.)

Give it time and you'll get used to them. You'll find you'll be shifting between the sections with no effort at all.

Oh yeah, I experienced the same difficulties when I first got them too. Watch it when stepping off a curb...

Now that's funny!

I wore them for years until I went the tri-focal route so I could see the computer monitor. And the fun has just begun. As I get older the eyes are changing still. Three lenses on each eye and I still can't see anything. And my hearing is going too. Old age ain't for the faint of heart.
