Can anybody please describe the circumstances when ND Filter is extremely useful? As I guess, it's about too sunny day, when f/8 and 1/2000 shutter speed is not enough to make a balanced picture? I often hear it must be used in macro mode...
Thank you!

Right Mista, whenever light is too bright, sun, bright haze, anything that is over a good exposure washing the pic or blowing out highlights. Never heard about a "must" in macro, the same would apply. It's very handy, just don't forget to take it out when the situation changes, otherwise you find yourself underexposing.

But also when you just want a slower shutter speed, like when you want less DOF or want to take a picture of a waterfall or running water.
