Hi,

I'm about to go Snowboarding in Winter Park :D. I've never taken an SLR up a slope before and wanted to get some ideas of what makes great pictures.

Also any tips on taking good snow shots would be greatly appriciated.

Thanks..

Lets see them.

Tips? It's easy :) Set camera on manual, expose so that face is lit right (yes yes snow will be overexposed but what the hell... it's about skier not about snow ;)), set custom wb (shoot into snow which is out of focus works perfectly for setting custom wb), set af to ai servo and you are done.
As far as sample shoots goes... One (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=290305), two (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=285572), 3 (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=275971) and 4 (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=270892) my threads with photos here on POTN, whole bunch of my alpine skiing (http://www.photo.si/advanced_search1.php?searchtype1=sup_category&condition1=like&searchstring1=alpskiing&andor1=and&searchtype2=category&condition2=like&searchstring2=s&andor2=&searchtype3=&condition3=&searchstring3=&lenb=0) shoots, whole bunch of my cross country (http://www.photo.si/advanced_search1.php?searchtype1=sup_category&condition1=like&searchstring1=xcskiing&andor1=and&searchtype2=category&condition2=like&searchstring2=s&andor2=&searchtype3=&condition3=&searchstring3=&lenb=0) and biathlon (http://www.photo.si/advanced_search1.php?searchtype1=sup_category&condition1=like&searchstring1=biathlon&andor1=and&searchtype2=category&condition2=like&searchstring2=s&andor2=&searchtype3=&condition3=&searchstring3=&lenb=0), and quite few of my ski jumping (http://www.photo.si/advanced_search1.php?searchtype1=sup_category&condition1=like&searchstring1=skijump&andor1=and&searchtype2=category&condition2=like&searchstring2=s&andor2=&searchtype3=&condition3=&searchstring3=&lenb=0) shoots :)

notice how the best ones have sick backgrounds and skiers who actually know how to ski
