Thanks - i have to admit this was just taken with my digital camera -- as i have not got a working scanner to get my canon slr picts up on the net yet

i agree with everyone here. Great eye, and bravo for finding patterns.
Im always on the look out for shadows that form patterns. Try converting your pic to B&W. Typically shadows/pattersn are emphasized more.

ps
a red filter would definitely make a difference in this scene.

I agree, the first image needs cropping just below the skyline,
but two thumbs up... the composition is there.

The B&W does emphasize the pattern, but now im certain the color pic is the best.
