It is a combo memorial and Iraq war protest next to the pier in Santa Monica. Closer to the parking lot are booths and poster boards displaying individual photographs of our (US) forces who have been killed in that conflict along with bios and personal info. Additionally there are booths/tents set up with literature and info and steps one can take to pro-actively speak out against the war. Pretty tastefully done when contrasted to the Vietnam anti-war protests and the volunteers don't get in your face. The volunteers are very reserved as if this was an actual cemetary. Here's another shot showing more of the exhibit. As a sign of respect most adults do not walk through the markers.

The red represents ten dead. The memorial is erected every Sunday and maintained by the Los Angeles Chapter of the Verterans For Peace.

;) Deb, Last Saturday there was a Biker Ride, Toys for Tots here, and I saw this gal with her poodles in their suits..lol.I had to jump out and ask if I could snap a pic.she was thrilled.they ride on the bike with her in their own very posh dog rider!They had hats as well....but I was blocking traffic:rolleyes:
