This is my first post, I usually visit this site for advice and information, but my friends mom is getting married and was asking me whether wedding photographers shoot RAW or JPEG. She also asked if they do any editing (post processing) to the pictures. So, I couldn't think of a better place to send her for advice. So my question to all of you wedding photographers is relatively simple. Do you personally shot RAW or JPEG, and do you edit any of your wedding pictures and if so what percentage? I'm going to send her a link to this post, so thanks in advance for any information.

I shoot RAW, I change the parameters (exposure, brightness, shadows, vignette, etc) on all of them, but very few go into photoshop - less than 5%. I don't try and do anything too fancy, good, well exposed, well lit photos.

Similar to Tim here. They all get basic editing from RAW UNLESS I'm giving away digital negatives on a CD. Then I give just that...digital negs... none of my time is spent on editing in that situation. Good solid photos out of camera is key.

RAW, edit all. all the pics go through DPP for contrast, saturation, and sharpness bumps (all with recipes). sometimes cropping. just like tim, very few go into PS.

Raw, mostly batch processed, a few will get individual attention for mixed lighting. If you want a really balanced view of the RAW vs JPEG issue, you should read this (http://jeffascough.typepad.com/wpj_resource/2007/02/if_you_shoot_ra.html).
I shoot Raw, and probably always will for the insurance. However now I know why some Pro's can shamelessly say there's nothing wrong with shooting JPEG.

I still shoot RAW...I started shooting RAW because I didn't trust myself to always expose well.

Everything gets a little Saturation/Contrast bump and WB correction, plus a little noise reduction to the RAW file, but the jpegs come out pretty clean and not much is done from there.

I will probably always shoot RAW, but I'm starting to see why some photogs don't. I don't really know if it's a good thing to judge a photographer on.

I don't think it matters what the photog's workflow is as long he can get results with it. I find that RAW works for me. Lightroom makes it really easy to work with so I don't see myself switching any time soon.

I shoot RAW. I don't edit all images, I cull down first, then do major changes to the ones that's left and do some more fancy edits on maybe 10-15 images to show how it might look like if they go with that style.

I shoot 100% RAW and usually adjust saturation, contrast and maybe sharpness. I will then select my best shots for my portfolio and really get into them for optimal results.
