I have a holiday in a new villa coming up soon in Greece and the owner has asked me if I could take a few photos around the villa to possibly include on their website.
The villa is a brilliant white exterior and I would appreciate any tips on taking shots in a bright sun without the white walls appearing washed out or turning out a yellow shade.
The current photos on the sites homepage look ok but a large tree is stuck in the middle of the villa pic (not my photo), I'll look for a better position when I get there . Hopefully there will be a bit more greenery on the ground when I get there as the villa construction had just been completed when the photo was taken.

The site name is in my profile.

I would suggest that you use a handheld light meter in incident mode or, as an alternative, use a standard gray card with a reflected-light meter (such as that in your camera). This way you are measuring the light falling on the subject, not that being reflected from it.

Use manual exposure settings so that the camera doesn't try to second-guess your intentions.

What Skip said will work. My solution is to shoot RAW on "M" & do this: Need an exposure crutch? (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=89123)

Shoot on an overcast day, if possible. If not, shoot just before sunrise or just after sunset.
