I am planning to sell some lenses and probably a G3 to these vendors.........Anybody have any experiences?? Is it a smart move??

You'd probably get more $$$ selling them on a forum like here or on Ebay.

Just to give you a idea. I asked B&H what they would give for a 100-300mm canon zoom only 1/1/2 months old from them. cost $290

They offered $100 and I had to ship.

Not a good way to go.

Ebay is a good way to go....

Speaking of which, I just picked up a hell of a deal on Ebay on a Medium Format camera. I picked up a Mamiya 645 Super with 80mm f2.8 and metered prism , 120 back, Hard case, filters, cable release all in near mint condition for $240.00. Good little spare body for portrait work, weddings, etc.

Yes, selling it here or at FM will net you closer to retail value for a used lens. B&H, KEH, and Adorama act as brokers for used equipment. They are almost always going to make a profit on your lens or camera - they have to pay the help and the electric bill somehow. It is a quick and easy way to move things out of your possession, but it'll net you less money.
